Baseball Game Preview: University Prep Pumas vs. South Whidbey Falcons

For the second straight game, University Prep will face off against South Whidbey. The Pumas will challenge the Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. University Prep's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so South Whidbey's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

University Prep took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against South Whidbey, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pumas' pitcher stepped up to hand the Falcons a 1-0 shutout on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Pumas have posted since April 5, 2024.

The result came thanks to Hawthorne Moody's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because University Prep is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-3 otherwise.
