Basketball Preview: Anson Bearcats vs. Parkwood Wolf Pack
Anson hasn't had much luck against Parkwood recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Anson Bearcats will face off against the Parkwood Wolf Pack at 7:30 p.m. Anson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 matches -- so hopefully Parkwood likes a good challenge.
It was a proper cat-fight when Anson faced off against Central Academy on Friday. Anson simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Central Academy 91-41. The Bearcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 22 points or more this season.
Jayden Little was his usual excellent self, going 19 for 31 on his way to 53 points in addition to six boards and six steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Anson's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amari Ingram, who posted ten points and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Parkwood earned a 55-47 win over West Stanly on Friday.
Anson is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.8 points per game. As for Parkwood, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-11.
