Basketball Recap: DSST: Cedar Gets the Win

DSST: Cedar won the last time they faced Manual and things went their way on Friday too. The DSST: Cedar Falcons slipped by the Manual Thunderbolts 32-31. The win was nothing new for the Falcons as they're now sitting on three straight.

DSST: Cedar's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amaya Paul, who posted nine points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Rhodes, who scored 12 points.

Dayjah Fox and Caylei Walker certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Fox earned eight points in addition to 12 boards and four blocks, while Walker almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. Fox is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last 12 games she's played dating back to last season.

DSST: Cedar is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Manual, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 9-2.

DSST: Cedar didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-32 loss against Sterling on the 25th. As for Manual, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Kennedy at 5:30 p.m. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Manual has won five straight at home, while Kennedy won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
