Basketball Recap: Voyager Academy's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Voyager Academy won the last time they faced Oxford Prep and things went their way on Friday too. Everything went the Voyager Academy Vikings' way against the Oxford Prep Griffins as the Voyager Academy Vikings made off with a 70-46 win. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Voyager Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carlos Green, who went 8 of 12 on his way to 20 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Those four steals gave Green a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Darin Jones, who posted ten points and seven assists.

Voyager Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The victory (which was Voyager Academy's fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.3 points per game. As for Oxford Prep, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Voyager Academy and Franklin Academy will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Franklin Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.5 points per game this season. Oxford Prep will take on Falls Lake in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
