Football Recap: Smoky Hill Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Smoky Hill had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-6 to make it four. They had to suffer through a 44-7 loss at the hands of the Arapahoe Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Buffaloes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Warriors are ranked 13th).

Jayden Hopkins threw for 27 yards and one TD. On the ground, Shaun Lanre-Ahmed rushed for 43 yards.

As for Arapahoe, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. That looming 44-7 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Marcello Jaramillo was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 79 yards and a pair of scores on only five carries. What's more, he posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in September of 2024.

Smoky Hill has already played their next contest, a 42-0 loss against Cherry Creek on the 24th. As for Arapahoe, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 27-13 victory against Cherokee Trail on the 23rd.
