Caribou came tearing into Saturday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Mount Desert Island Trojans by a score of 64-51. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked first, while the Trojans are ranked 28th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Caribou pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Mount Desert Island, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.
