Basketball Recap: Laurel Picks Up Sixth Straight Win on the Road

Laurel lost to DuVal back in January of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Laurel Spartans walked away with a 77-69 victory over the DuVal Tigers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Laurel's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amadou Kaloga, who went 7 of 15 en route to 20 points and three steals. Kaloga has been hot recently, having posted 20 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jermaine Taylor, who posted 21 points and six boards.

Laurel's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. As for DuVal, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-4.

Laurel will head out to take on Flowers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for DuVal, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the DuVal Tigers face off against the Parkdale Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
