Basketball Recap: Carrollton Snags Tenth Win in Last 11 Games

Carrollton won the last time they faced West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] and things went their way on Monday too. The Carrollton Hawks took down the West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] Cougars 69-51. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Cougars are ranked 296th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Lauren Flowers, who went 12 of 17 en route to 30 points and three steals. Chloe McAdams was another key player, going 5 for 8 on her way to 10 points.

Carrollton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 28 consecutive matches.

Despite the loss, West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ali Little went 8 of 13 en route to 29 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Vickie Mcgee, who scored six points and three steals.

Carrollton is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.
