Volleyball Recap: Westview Comes Up Short

Westview was the 3-0 winner over San Dieguito Academy when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wolverines lost 3-0 to the Mustangs on Friday. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Westview was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-16, 25-21.

Leading San Dieguito Academy to victory were Noah Ansaldo and Trevor Anderson. Ansaldo had seven digs and two aces, while Anderson had 11 digs and two blocks. Anderson has been hot for a while, having also posted 12 or more assists the last 28 times he's played.

Westview's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for San Dieguito Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

San Dieguito Academy will square off against Mission Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mission Vista will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something San Dieguito Academy surely won't give up without a fight. Westview will be paying especially close attention to the Mustangs' game: after the Mustangs faces off against La Costa Canyon, they'll take on Westview again at 6:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
