Baseball Recap: South Garner Comes Up Short

South Garner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clayton Comets. The Titans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Comets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

South Garner saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Parker Wyant, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That hit was Wyant's first of the season.

South Garner's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Clayton, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-5.

While South Garner had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
