Recap: White Oak Vikings vs. Richlands Wildcats
The White Oak Vikings stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They breezed by Richlands at home to the tune of 63-18. The victory was nothing new for White Oak as they're now sitting on five straight.
White Oak had a senior duo take command as Derrick Benbow jr scored 20 points along with three blocks and Kaemon Noel scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Benbow jr posted two or more blocks. Aj Strickland was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
White Oak is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Richlands, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. White Oak will face off against Dixon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dixon will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 513th, while White Oak is ranked 76th). As for Richlands, they will head out on the road to take on Croatan at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Croatan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday.
