Softball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Dallas' Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Dallas won the last time they faced Silverton and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Dragons came out on top against the Foxes by a score of 9-4. The game was the first time the Dragons have beaten the Foxes on their field since May 27, 2022.

Madi Ruman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Grace Walls was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Harlow Nelson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Dallas is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Silverton, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Dallas will square off against rival South Albany at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Silverton is set to challenge their familiar foe Lebanon at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
