Basketball Recap: Lake Zurich Comes Up Short

Lake Zurich was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 39-33 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lake Forest Scouts. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 165th, while the Scouts are ranked 42nd).

Lake Zurich's defeat dropped their record down to 13-17. As for Lake Forest, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season.

Looking ahead, Lake Zurich will face off against Palatine at 7:30 p.m. on February 26th. Lake Forest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
