Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for the Webb School

The Webb School entered their tilt with Silverdale Academy on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Seahawks with a sharp 10-1 win. This was payback for the Feet, who suffered a 14-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Sammy Ledbetter looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Owen Fogle was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Drew Baker was another key player, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

The Webb School hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Silverdale Academy struck out seven times.

The Webb School's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-8. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Silverdale Academy, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The Webb School will venture away from home to challenge White House-Heritage at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Silverdale Academy, they will head out to square off against Chattanooga Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Seahawks are facing the Chargers at the right time seeing as the Chargers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
