Basketball Game Preview: Loyola Academy Ramblers vs. Evanston Wildkits

Loyola Academy hasn't had much luck against Evanston recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Loyola Academy Ramblers will be playing at home against the Evanston Wildkits at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Loyola Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Fenwick, taking the game 45-34. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Ramblers.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Evanston on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Glenbrook North out of the water with a 71-41 final score. The Wildkits have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 22 points or more this season.

Evanston's win bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Loyola Academy, they are also on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Loyola Academy skirted past Evanston 47-44 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Will Loyola Academy repeat their success, or does Evanston have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
