Basketball Game Preview: Elwood Panthers vs. Morristown Yellow Jackets

The Elwood Panthers will challenge the Morristown Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Elwood is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Last Saturday, Elwood was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 60-54 to Cowan. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Blackhawks 14-9 in the first quarter.

Despite their defeat, Elwood saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jayden Mullins, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten boards, was perhaps the best of all. Mullins continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brice Shuler, who posted 11 points.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Morristown, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They managed a 40-34 victory over Union County on Saturday.

Elwood's loss dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Morristown, their win bumped their record up to 9-12.
