Basketball Recap: Jackson Davis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Erwin over T.C. Roberson

Erwin lost against T.C. Roberson back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Erwin Warriors took a 69-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the T.C. Roberson Rams. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Erwin lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jackson Davis, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 16 points in addition to six boards and four blocks. Those four blocks gave Davis a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Wallace, who posted 16 points and five rebounds.

It was another big night for Dean Lowe, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 13 boards for T.C. Roberson. Lowe has become a key player for T.C. Roberson: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least 25 points, but 9-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was LaRon Mills, who put up 14 points.

Erwin's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for T.C. Roberson, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-11.

Erwin and T.C. Roberson could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Erwin will challenge McDowell at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 329 places (417 vs. 88). Similarly, T.C. Roberson (ranked 317th) will meet A.C. Reynolds (ranked 152nd) at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
