Basketball Game Preview: Van Buren Crusaders vs. Ashland Hornets

The Van Buren Crusaders will head out to take on the Ashland Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses dating back to last season for Van Buren and 16 for Ashland dating back to last season.

Last Friday, Van Buren was beaten by Washburn 61-29.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 58-20, which was the final score in Ashland's tilt against Southern Aroostook last Monday. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Warriors are ranked 50th).

Ashland's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Van Buren, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Van Buren suffered a grim 56-34 defeat to Ashland in their previous matchup back in January. Can Van Buren avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
