Football Recap: San Carlos Braves vs. Globe Tigers
San Carlos had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-1 to make it six. They were dealt a 49-20 loss at the hands of the Globe Tigers. The match was a close 15-14 at the break, but unfortunately for the Braves it sure didn't stay that way.
As for Globe, they now have a winning record of 2-1. The win continues a trend for them in their matchups with San Carlos: they've now won eight in a row.
Globe's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaeger Franco, who rushed for 105 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries, and also threw for 123 yards and two touchdowns. Those 105 rushing yards gave Franco a new career-high. Corban Bejarano was another key rusher, rushing for 92 yards and two TDs.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Carlos will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Desert Christian at 6:00 p.m. on the 19th. As for Globe, they will square off against Miami at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
