Basketball Recap: Glynn Academy Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Glynn Academy entered their tilt with South Effingham on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took down the South Effingham Mustangs 53-34. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 42-26 last Saturday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Glynn Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alyssa Martin, who posted seven points along with 25 boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave Martin a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Faith Jernigan, who put up 16 points and five boards.

Glynn Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 31 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Glynn Academy's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for South Effingham, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Glynn Academy has already played their next game (against Statesboro), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. South Effingham will square off against Brunswick at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brunswick has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 201 points over their last three matches.
