Baseball Recap: Mountain View Mountain Lions vs. Pueblo Warriors
Mountain View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They fell just short of the Pueblo Warriors by a score of 3-2. Mountain View was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pueblo apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.
Julian Palmieri was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (he also only allowed one walk). Palmieri was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
Palmieri wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Lynch, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
On Pueblo's side, Angel Iriqui spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up seven Ks.
Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 3-18-2. As for Pueblo, their victory bumped their record up to 6-16.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain View is on the road again on Monday to play Sahuaro at 4:00 p.m. As for Pueblo, they will challenge Sunnyside at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Sunnyside is coming into the game with five straight wins at home, so Pueblo will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
