Soccer Recap: Atascocita Comes Up Short

After flying high against Humble last Tuesday, Atascocita came back down to earth. The Atascocita Eagles fell just short of the Kingwood Mustangs by a score of 1-0 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Mustangs are ranked 24th).

Atascocita's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 8-4-1. As for Kingwood, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 12-0-1.

Atascocita will face off against North Shore at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Atascocita's defense has only allowed 0.5 goals per game this season, so North Shore's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Kingwood, they will take on King at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
