Basketball Game Preview: Biddeford Tigers vs. Mt. Ararat Eagles

Biddeford is 1-9 against Mt. Ararat since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Biddeford Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Mt. Ararat Eagles at 2:30 p.m. Biddeford will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

On Thursday, everything came up roses for Biddeford against Massabesic as the squad secured a 55-27 win. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Mustangs are ranked 90th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Mt. Ararat hadn't done well against Brunswick recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Mt. Ararat managed a 47-41 victory over Brunswick. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Mt. Ararat has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Biddeford, their record is now 9-2.

Biddeford was taken down by Mt. Ararat 60-20 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Biddeford avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
