Basketball Recap: Southlands Christian Eagles vs. Tarbut V' Torah Lions
Southlands Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were dealt an 87-35 defeat at the hands of the Tarbut V' Torah Lions. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1261st, while the Lions are ranked 435th).
Leading Tarbut V' Torah to victory were Jacob Coblentz-Brown and Graydon Carpet. Coblentz-Brown dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds, while Carpet almost dropped a triple-double on 18 points, nine boards, and nine assists. Carpet has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Groner, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Southlands Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Tarbut V' Torah, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
