Football Recap: First Baptist Academy Comes Up Short

First Baptist Academy had lost four straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-8 to make it five. They took a blow against the Community School of Naples Seahawks, falling 49-0. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Seahawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

As for Community School of Naples, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.0 points over those games.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Jaden Phillips and Jayvian Tanelus. Phillips rushed for 184 yards and three TDs while Tanelus rushed for 167 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. Phillips really tore up the turf during one magnificent 90-yard run.

First Baptist Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Community School of Naples, they are taking a road trip to face off against Evangelical Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
