Softball Game Preview: Charlotte Trojans vs. Flatonia Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Charlotte will face off against Flatonia. The Trojans will head out on the road to challenge the Bulldogs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Charlotte's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three games.

Charlotte is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They blew past Flatonia 13-4. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won 13 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Aubry Escamilla made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Charlotte let Kadence Luna and Lexi Cumpian run wild. Luna went 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Cumpian went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Cumpian a new career-high. Jessalyn Dominguez was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Charlotte kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Flatonia only managed two hits.

Charlotte's record is now 19-4. As for Flatonia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-10-1 record this season.
