Adams Central is 8-2 against Woodlan since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Jets will face off against the Warriors at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Adams Central proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by seven) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over South Adams. The Jets haven't had any issues with the Starfires recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Max Byerly was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Bluhm, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Adams Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Woodlan got themselves on the board against Southern Wells on Thursday, but Southern Wells never followed suit. They blew past the Raiders 8-0. The Warriors not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 8th (when they won 10-0).
Malakai Yates made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Yates was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Evan Koch, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. James Goldin was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Adams Central's record now sits at 5-11-1. As for Woodlan, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 7-8.
Everything went Adams Central's way against Woodlan when the teams last played back in May of 2025, as Adams Central made off with a 10-2 victory. Do the Jets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
