Basketball Recap: Colton-Pierrepont Triumphs

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Colton-Pierrepont had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They managed a 45-41 victory over the Hammond Central Red Devils. For the Colts, this counts as revenge for the 51-48 win the Red Devils walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2015.

Ty Farns was the offensive standout of the match as he posted 18 points in addition to six boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Trimm, who scored 13 points and five rebounds.

The victory made it two in a row for Colton-Pierrepont and bumps their season record up to 10-11. As for Hammond Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Looking ahead, Colton-Pierrepont will challenge Harrisville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Harrisville will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Colton-Pierrepont surely won't give up without a fight. Hammond Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
