Basketball Recap: Vacaville Christian Takes a Loss

If Vacaville Christian was riding high fresh off their 75-50 takedown of Rio Vista last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vacaville Christian Falcons were dealt a 92-54 defeat at the hands of the Woodland Christian Cardinals on Monday. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-29.

Leading Woodland Christian to victory were Romello Bruhn and Malakai Baker. Bruhn went 13 of 18 on his way to 38 points along with seven rebounds and five assists, while Baker went 8 for 14 from beyond the arc en route to 36 points. The matchup was Bruhn's 48th in a row with at least ten points. Luke Nguyen also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Vacaville Christian's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Woodland Christian, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 17-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vacaville Christian will take on Golden Sierra at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Woodland Christian, they will square off against Lindhurst at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
