Football Recap: Los Alamitos Takes a Loss

If Los Alamitos was feeling good fresh off their 50-0 takedown of Loara last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Griffins came up short against the Newport Harbor Sailors on Wednesday, falling 39-13. The Griffins have struggled against the Sailors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Los Alamitos' defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Newport Harbor, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Los Alamitos will take on rival Corona del Mar at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Newport Harbor is set to square off against their familiar foe Huntington Beach at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Sailors 6.5, the Oilers 4.9) so any points scored will be well earned.
