Soccer Recap: Cherry Creek Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Cherry Creek couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Broomfield Eagles by a score of 2-1 on Monday. One reason for the loss might be Cherry Creek's aggressive play style: Mikaya Rogers and Georgia Yatrakis were both handed yellow cards.

Cherry Creek's goal came courtesy of Sage Schiller, who's now up to three this season.

Cherry Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 13-2-3. As for Broomfield, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4-2 record this season.

Cherry Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Broomfield, they will face off against Castle View at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Castle View will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Broomfield surely won't give up without a fight.
