Lincoln-Way West posted their closest win since April 2nd on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Oak Forest Bengals, sneaking past 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Bengals: they've now won six in a row.

Antony Vita spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lincoln-Way West's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Acevedo, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Lincoln-Way West's record is now 14-4. As for Oak Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8-1.

The timing is sure in the Bengals' favor as the squad sits on 12 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Red Wolves have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
