Softball Game Preview: Turner Ashby Knights vs. Monticello Mustangs

The Turner Ashby Knights will take on the Monticello Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Turner Ashby is coming into the match hot, having won their last 12 games.

Turner Ashby is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They didn't even let East Rockingham on the board, marking the Knights' second-straight 12-0 shutout. Considering the Knights have won 15 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Monticello owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They skirted past Brookville 1-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Turner Ashby's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Monticello, their victory bumped their record up to 19-4.

Turner Ashby was able to grind out a solid win over Monticello in their previous meeting back in May of 2018, winning 7-4. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
