Baseball Recap: Pomperaug Takes a Loss

Pomperaug managed to slip by Seymour the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Panthers lost 12-5 to the Wildcats on Tuesday. On the bright side, the five- run performance marked the Panthers' highest-scoring match to date.

Noah Pane stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored two runs and stole four bases while going 1-for-3. Kyle Parker was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Pomperaug dropped their record down to 0-4 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Seymour, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Coming up, Pomperaug will be playing at home against Shepaug Valley at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Seymour, they will face off against Crosby at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.
