Softball Preview: Eastlake Titans vs. Westview Wolverines

Eastlake is 4-0 against Westview since March of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Eastlake Titans are on the road again to play the Westview Wolverines at 3:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Last Tuesday, Eastlake narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Mira Mesa 4-2. That's two games straight that Eastlake has won by exactly two runs.

Addison Suriano spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ryan Pham, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a double. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Olshenskie, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Westview had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They skirted past the Bulldogs 7-6.

Eastlake's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4. As for Westview, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.
