Softball Game Preview: Sigourney Savages vs. Iowa Valley Tigers

Sigourney has gone a perfect 10-0 against Iowa Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Savages will be playing at home against the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Sigourney is coming into the match hot, having won their last nine games dating back to last season.

Sigourney had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 21-run drubbing they dealt Belle Plaine on Friday. The Savages put the hurt on the Plainsmen with a sharp 22-1 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Savages considering their two-run performance the contest before.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Iowa Valley and B-G-M meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Tigers fell 9-4 to the Bears.

Sigourney's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Iowa Valley, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Everything went Sigourney's way against Iowa Valley in their previous matchup back in July of 2024, as Sigourney made off with a 9-0 win. Will the Savages repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
