Football Recap: Ida Baker Skates Past Desoto County with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against IMG Academy State, Ida Baker was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They breezed past DeSoto County to the tune of 55-22. Ida Baker's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Ida Baker's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brody Root led the charge by throwing for 266 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt, and also rushing for 62 yards and one score. Another rusher making a difference was Nikolas Korf, who rushed for 161 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 8.9 yards per carry.

Ida Baker's run defense was locked in: DeSoto County could only muster 3.3 yards per carry. The team can thank Paytrell Coleman for the heroic effort on defense: he. Ida Baker didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.5.

Ida Baker has already played their next game, a 38-21 win against First Baptist Academy on the 26th. As for DeSoto County, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Southeast at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
