Baseball Recap: Milford Central Find Success

While Milford Central's win against Worcester wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wildcats narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Wolverines 23-21. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Aidan Mertz and Damien Phillips did most of the damage at the plate: Mertz got on base in five of his six plate appearances with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base, while Phillips got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs and five RBI. Mertz has become a key player for Milford Central: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Ashton Solovitch was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Milford Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 5-3. As for Worcester, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
