Basketball Recap: Wyler Fisher's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Morrill over Kimball

After flying high against Gordon-Rushville last Monday, Morrill came back down to earth. The Morrill Lions fell 60-47 to the Kimball Longhorns on Tuesday. The Lions have struggled against the Longhorns recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Morrill's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Wyler Fisher, who on his way to 17 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashwin Pittman, who to rack up 17 points.

Even though they lost, Morrill was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.

Morrill's defeat dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Kimball, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Morrill nor Kimball have any future games scheduled.
