Baseball Recap: Orangefield's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

With a playoff win on the line, Orangefield rose to the challenge on Friday. They never let the Van Vleck Leopards get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Bobcats, who have now won three games in a row.

The result came thanks to Carson Gonzales's shutout, as he gave up just three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Orangefield saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Layne Reynolds, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Orangefield's victory bumped their record up to 24-6. As for Van Vleck, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-13.

Orangefield will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Leopards: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
