Baseball Recap: Palmyra-Macedon Extends Winning Streak to Three

Palmyra-Macedon won against Geneva on Friday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Red Raiders came out on top against the Mynderse Academy Blue Devils by a score of 6-1. The win was familiar territory for the Red Raiders, who have now won three games in a row.

Trey Porpora was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other pitching news, Andy West looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Jordan Goff, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Noah DaPolito was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Palmyra-Macedon's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Mynderse Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
