Brookside and Wellington are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2020, but not for long. The Cardinals will head out on the road to challenge the Dukes at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Brookside beat Oberlin 3-1.

The win didn't come easy: Oberlin scored at least 18 points in every set. The final score came out to 28-26, 27-25, 14-25, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Wellington entered their tilt with Black River on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Pirates.

Wellington took Black River into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 20-25, 23-25, 27-25, 15-12.

Brookside's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Wellington, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.

Brookside couldn't quite get it done against Wellington in their previous meeting back in September as they fell 3-1. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Dukes' Alexandria Mills, who had 20 digs and five aces. Now that the Cardinals know the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
