Baseball Recap: Kiefer Comes Up Short

Kiefer saw some tournament action on Friday. They fell just short of the Cushing Tigers by a score of 9-7.

Daxton Smith made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Trent Cantrell, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Kiefer's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Cushing, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Kiefer will venture away from home to challenge Stigler at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cushing, they will host Seminole at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
