Soccer Game Preview: Blue Ridge vs. Berea

Blue Ridge is 1-9 against Berea since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Fighting Tigers will look to defend their home pitch against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Blue Ridge has given up an average of 3.6 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Blue Ridge came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 7-0 to Daniel. While losing is never fun, Blue Ridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 179th, while Daniel are ranked 21st).

Meanwhile, Berea kept a clean sheet against Travelers Rest on Friday. They came out on top against the Devildogs by a score of 2-0. Berea haven't had any issues with Travelers Rest recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Geyser Fabricio Lopez was the driving force of Berea's attack as he scored both of Berea's goals, bringing his season total up to 12 goals.

Berea's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-5-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those three games. As for Blue Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
