Basketball Recap: Bishop O'connell Wins High-Profile Game Against Dematha

Bishop O'Connell and DeMatha (ranked 35th and 14th in the MaxPreps national rankings respectively) squared off in a high-profile contest on Friday. The Bishop O'Connell Knights came out on top against the DeMatha Stags by a score of 56-49. This was payback for the Knights, who suffered a 64-50 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bishop O'Connell to victory, but perhaps none more so than Justin Edwards, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Norton, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.

Bishop O'Connell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, DeMatha still got an impressive performance from Kade Sebastian, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamaal McKnight Jr., who posted nine points.
