Soccer Recap: Tanque Verde Takes a Loss

Tanque Verde fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Safford on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Safford Bulldogs by a score of 2-1. The Hawks have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Tanque Verde's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Safford, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-4-1.

ALA - West Foothills is on a three-game streak of home wins, Tanque Verde a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the pitch. As for Safford, they will welcome Florence at 6:00 p.m. on February 12th. Safford is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 5.9 goals per game this season.
