Basketball Recap: Pungo Christian Academy Comes Up Short

If Pungo Christian Academy was riding high fresh off their 80-41 takedown of The Oakwood School on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Raiders lost 67-43 to the John Paul II Catholic Saints on Thursday. The matchup marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

John Paul II Catholic was led to victory by Drew Lysaght and King Williams. Lysaght posted 14 points, while Williams scored 14 points. Lysaght continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Martin, who had ten points.

Pungo Christian Academy now has a losing record of 3-4. As for John Paul II Catholic, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, Pungo Christian Academy will face off against Lawrence Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for John Paul II Catholic, they have already played their next contest, a 52-49 loss against Northside - Pinetown on the 5th.
