With a playoff win on the line, Yerington rose to the challenge on Thursday. They walked away with a 78-68 win over the Battle Mountain Longhorns. The Lions' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Battle Mountain lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Brodie Smith, who went 8-for-19 to rack up 19 points along with seven boards and three steals. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Abraham Nevarez, who went 7-for-15 en route to 15 points and eight steals.

The victory was the third in a row for Yerington, bringing their record for this year to 13-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points over those games. As for Battle Mountain, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-8.

Yerington has already played their next match, a 72-47 loss against Incline on the 14th. Battle Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
