Baseball Recap: Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale Comes Up Short

Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the New York Mills Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-5 back in April.

Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for New York Mills, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.

While Bertha-Hewitt/Verndale had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
