Volleyball Recap: Reedley Takes a Loss

If Reedley was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Fresno Christian two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pirates lost 3-0 to the Washington Union Panthers on Thursday. The Pirates were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

The 3-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-22, 25-23.

Uriel Andrade paced Reedley's offense, picking up nine kills. Andrade got some help from Jared Bonds and his 13 assists.

Reedley's defeat dropped their record down to 20-13. As for Washington Union, they moved to 11-18 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Reedley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Selma on the 29th. As for Washington Union, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Immanuel on the 29th.
